The Palace Art Fair

The Palace Art Fair is going ahead - the Palace is booked, the pavilions commissioned, and the application form and website's being written. Our initial poll of 100 artists met with a great response, with many artists keen to book up the Palace Art Fair in it's first year.

We've been working hard on the plans over the last few weeks, playing with different ideas and layouts and it's all coming together nicely. Most of the stands will be in temporary pavilions within the courtyard and walled garden of the Palace, with some stands will be in the Great Hall and in 2 other rooms.

We are also wanting groups or galleries to apply to take the whole of some of the georgeous large Georgian drawing rooms to hang work on the walls and place sculpture or ceramics on the shelves (without using a shell scheme)

We don't want the show to have more than 100 artists in it's first year (to keep the size manageable and the quality high) and so we will have more larger spaces but still at a reasonable cost.

We should be able to finalise our stand plans and pricing by the end of next week - register with us on-line for further details and keep in touch with our plans at www.palaceartfair.co.uk

FULHAM PALACE ART FAIR

The team behind Brighton Art Fair and MADE are planning a brand new event - THE PALACE ART FAIR - Fulham Palace, London from 7th - 10th October, 2010

Fulham Palace is a Tudor/Georgian Palace set in parkland by the river at Putney Bridge. The Palace has recently been renovated and more work on the stables and walled gardens will take place next year. We think it will be a fantastic venue being a beautiful and historic building, within 15 minutes drive of Mayfair, Sloane Square, Holland Park, Kensington, Battersea, Clapham, Wimbledon, Barnes, Richmond, Mortlake, Kew and Chiswick and walking distance from the affluent residential areas of Putney and Fulham.

The Palace Art Fair will build on what people like about Brighton Art Fair, in terms of quality, size and friendliness, transferred to a new venue. The Palace is essentially a grand but domestic building and so there isn't one large space but instead the show will use a number of large rooms and marquees in the courtyard and walled garden. There is also a great cafe in the Georgian wing of the palace with an outside terrace.

Prices would be more than Brighton Art Fair but still low in comparison to similar central London shows. eg a standard 2m x 1m space would cost £600 including shell scheme and lighting - this will give us enough funds for a proper marketing and PR campaign with a both a London wide presence and a local door to door marketing campaign.

We are keen to here from any artists or artists groups who may be interested - if artists are keen to be updated on further details they can register their interest on our website (application forms will not be available for another few weeks) - or if you have any comments on the proposed show email jon@brightonartfair.co.uk
