Emma Mason British Prints have just opened a new exhibition. The show is a selling exhibition of linocuts and lithographs made by Robert Tavener in the 1960s and early 1970s. The prints are all based on the iconic images of the London Horse Guards and were made when Tavener was working on a poster commission for London Transport.
Tavener made several posters for London Transport including one of the Horse Guards with the poster describes as the "best free show in London" with "the Changing of the Guard, the clinking magic of the Household Cavalry".
It is around this poster that the exhibition has been displayed - with original prints as well as preparatory drawings and sketches and also photographs of Tavener working in his studio. There are also some books related to the posters.
The exhibition runs from 6th - 27th February and is at the Emma Mason Gallery in Eastbourne and also on line on their website www.emmamason.co.uk
Prices range from £195.00 - £525.00
