The Alexander Gallery in one of the longest established galleries in Brighton (the Gallery was formally known as the Hugo Barclay Gallery) and is one of the few galleries in the country specialising in design and craft work by individual studio makers of a national standard . The gallery stocks a large and varied selection of contemporary Craft - jewellery, glass, ceramics, as well as paintings and prints.

Owner Karen Foster describes the gallery as "a light and contemprary gallery offering unusual and sometimes surprising work by individual studio makers"

The Gallery is conveniently situated in the middle of Brighton's Lanes round the corner from the Queens Hotel and close to a number of other independent shops and galleries.
